4to. 195pp. Black cloth boards wrapped in an illustrated jacket. Profusely illustrated with photographs, a mix of colour and monochrome, full/double page and in-text. An expertly produced book, the photographs have been printed to an extremely high standard. American Photography is a juried annual that sets out to represent the best of photography in the US. Regarded by creative professionals as the “books of record” and best sources for today’s top image-makers, American Illustration and American Photography are the premier showcases for editorial, advertising, book, poster, design, animation, fine art, unpublished and student work created by established, emerging and student illustrators and photographers. Each book also celebrates the creatives, publications and schools who assigned and utilized the winning images. In this, the eleventh issue, entrants included David LaChapelle, Raymond Meier, and Alex Webb, to name a few. A particular highlight is Anton Corbijn’s picture of Kurt Cobain, taken in late November ’93, just a few months prior to his untimely death. A really wonderful, scarce book in near fine condition. Item weighs roughly 2kg and postage will have to be adjusted accordingly.
