3 vols., 8vo., contemporary mottled leather with raised bands and gilt-lettered red leather labels and gilt floral motif ornamentation to spines, red pages edges, pp. , 466, ; , 480; , 503, 100, including folding map in vol. 1. Binding bumped and rubbed at extremities, especially vol. 3, of which the foredge of the front board is abraded, a chip has been taken out of the spine and the boards have suffered a small degree of discoloration; otherwise the binding is in very good condition, the mottling to the leather and the gilt spines being especially fine; the text block is tight, the pages remarkably clean, with some marks only to the preliminaries of each volume and a closed tear to the title page of vol. 2. An extremely rare book of major significance to the history of Portuguese topography, even rarer for having the folding map in volume 1 which is not only present but in fine condition. Text in Portuguese.
