Some light creasing to the spine, minor browning to extremities, head and foot of the jacket’s spine are a little creased and chipped, otherwise the book in its entirety is in very good condition. Waugh’s penultimate work of fiction. The Ordeal of Gilbert Pinfold is a fictionalised autobiographical account of a period of hallucinations the author experienced due to bromide intoxication in the early months of 1954. A very rare proof copy in excellent condition; perfect to round out any serious collection of Waugh’s oeuvre.
