Complete with illustrations: 30 hand-coloured plates, 1 hand-coloured title page, 1 b/w portrait (of Thomas Berwick); the plates engraved and coloured after drawings by the famous Edward Lear, the title page after John Hope Stewart, both of whom – Lear especially – were well-known and important naturalist illustrators in their day.
