Light staining to endpapers, as well as previous owner’s bookplate. Besides some light foxing to preliminaries, content is exceptionally bright, clean and well preserved. The binding is firm and the text complete. Rare first edition of the definitive guide to 19th century Milan. Divided into 11 chapters, it provides a comprehensive account of the art, architecture and life of the city. Chapters include a plan for a 10-day city tour and an overview of notable personalities of the city (architects, painters and sculptors). It was one of the most important guides of the city and was printed continuously until 1830.
