NEW – still in shrinkwrap. 1st Edition. 4to. 224pp. Blue cloth hardcover housed in an illustrated jacket. Extensively illustrated throughout with a total of 206 illustrations, 168 of which are in colour. The production of the book is marvelous; Thames and Hudson have done Kiff’s oeuvre great credit. With an introduction by famed art historian Norbert Lynton. As stated, book is NEW and as such as the condition is MINT. This first ever illustrated monograph on the artist presents an account of Kiff’s career from the 1960s to 2000, culminating in his election to the Royal Academy in 1989 and appointment in 1991 as an Artist in Residence at the National Gallery, London. He was actively involved in the early stages of this book, and his own memories and views on art are quoted verbatim. Arguably the most extensive work produced on Kiff to-date. A wonderful book about one of the twentieth century’s great artists, made all the more appealing thanks to its condition.
