The first German edition of the Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen’s account of the Arctic expedition of 1893 to 1896 which he led aboard the Fram. The Norwegian title is “Fram over Polhavet”, the first edition of which appeared in Oslo in the same year. It was contemporary also with the English language edition, titled, ‘Farthest North: being the record of a voyage of exploration of the ship Fram 1893-96 and of a fifteen months’ sleigh journey by Dr. Nansen and Lieut.
