The book is in fair condition, in its original board binding which is a little grubby, the pages are a little dotted, the songsheet slightly torn, with no loss of music or text. Complete with fold-out frontispiece containing engraved musical setting of Piesn Boga Rodzica (a Polish war hymn dating to the twelfth century). This is an unsigned presentation copy: ‘Presented with the author’s best wishes to the Unitarian Public Library’ (there might be a signature under the library sticker). First edition of the first collection of Polish poetry in English. Contains poems by Kochanowski, Szymonowicz, Zimorowicz, Sarbiewski, Gawinski, Krasicki, Wegierski, Niemcewicz, Brodzinski, and Lach Szyrma.
