Notes: Two volumes on the British Fungology. The second volume, published in 1891, is a supplement published 31 years after the first volume. The two paired together are an interesting comparison of how fungology has progressed, for example the notion of discovery new species. The first volume has a half leather binding with marbled papers, with gilt stamped lettering. The second is simple blue cloth binding, also with gilt stamped lettering. The 1860 volume includes 23 land-coloured plates, and bears two book plates and signature from the previous owners. Minor wear to both.
